I have always used GHD brand straighteners, because they simply are the best. In fact, my first pair of straighteners were pink GHD’s! So when I go the opportunity to try the GHD Limited Edition Platinum Pink Blush Styler I was so excited.
They arrived in a secure, plain cardboard box, inside was a sufficient amount of bubble wrap to protect the branded box inside. The branded box itself was of very good quality, sturdy and not likely to risk damaging the products, and had a very appealing pink geometric pattern along with the regular GHD branding and an image of the straighteners.
The straighteners look gorgeous with the glittery pink plates and hot pink casing but unfortunately they feel quite cheap. They don't have much weight to them and the plastic body reminded me of a children's toy, which really did disappoint me at first as they look very stylish and luxe but the feel just doesn’t match up.
The GHD Limited Edition Platinum Pink Blush Styler is very easy to use, the 20 second heat up time seems almost instant and the tune that the styler plays when you turn it on is very cute, it reminds me of the GameCube startup sound!
The plates of the straighteners definitely have that typical smooth glide that GHD stylers are known for, they don’t catch on your hair, even going over dry patches (I have thick, bleached and colour treated hair). In just one pass my hair was shinier, softer, healthy looking and most importantly, poker straight.
The styler is very comfortable to hold, the exterior is cool enough to lightly hold during styling and the rounded shape feels very natural to hold and definitely helps when curling hair with the tool.
Overall I was very pleased with the performance of the styler and the results I achieved with it. I would definitely recommend it to a friend looking for a new pair of straightners or looking to try the GHD brand.
My sister had a chance to test them out too and she was very impressed and is contemplating upgrading to the GHD Limited Edition Platinum Pink Blush Styler! However, I think that the RRP of £165 may be a bit steep, considering the cheap feel of the styler (my only qualm), but £10 of every sale of this product is donated to support breast cancer research which I think is amazing.
