Hi this is my review for the Harvester. I went to the Harvester Apollo in Warrington on the 6th of January, with my husband and 2 children (9 and 3) we arrived around 17:30 to be told they were currently full but could seat us in just over 1 hour., On our return we were seated and told it was table service and our waitress was named Jess. We ordered our drinks, whilst we decided on our food. After we ordered we received our bowls for the salad bar, which was lovely, a good selection of ingredients and toppers and sauces, it was quite busy that evening and they were topping up the salad bar as needed.
For our main meal, me and my husband chose the 1983 harvester combo, Half a rotisserie chicken and a half rack of BBQ-glazed ribs. With sage & onion seasoned chips, buttered corn, and their speciality chicken gravy, we upgraded from seasoned chips to dirty fries, they just had some cheese sauce and topped with their bacon flavoured bits, tasted nice, but a little mediocre. The chicken was juicy and the ribs, fell off the bone so we were happy. However, the corn on the cob that accompanied the combo was mushy and watery.
My 9 year old son chose the 4oz steak from the kids menu which came with 2 sides, he chose sweet potato fries and corn on the cob, again this was mushy and watery. The steak however was ok, slightly overdone even though they asked how he would prefer it cooked, my 3 year old daughter chose the simply pasta from the kids menu, again, it came with 2 sides, she chose corn on the cob and chips, which was great, no complaints on the pasta, it was tasty and a decent potion. Her corn on the cob was the best out of the 4.
We ordered halloumi fries and garlic bread as sides for us to share, they were lovely.
We then filled up our refillable drinks and ordered dessert, with the kid’s meals you get a free dessert, so my daughter chose a build your own sundae. Vanilla ice cream and 4 toppers. My son preferred to order off the main menu rather than opting for the free dessert, and he chose a Rocky horror, A Belgian waffle with real dairy ice cream, and warm chocolate fudge brownie, topped with fluffy cream, chocolate fudge pieces and a cherry. No complaints there as he demolished the lot.
Me and my husband chose to share a treacle sponge with custard, again no complaints, it was delicious.
We then asked for our bill, in total it came to £92.50. Our waitress Jess was lovely and very attentive throughout, making sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. From sitting down, to ordering and receiving our meals, we didn’t have to wait long in between, we sat down to eat at 18:45 and we left around 20:15.
Overall, we all had a lovely evening and would definitely return.
