Our Friday night visit to Wagamama Bromley was bustling with activity, reflecting its popularity. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. The staff, sporting cheerful smiles, greeted us warmly and even cracked jokes about the warm evening, adding a personal touch to the experience. The menu offered a diverse selection, and our orders were promptly taken. The drinks arrived almost instantly, a testament to the efficiency of the service. The restaurant was evidently well-staffed, both in the kitchen and among the waiting team.
Moving on to the food, the starters provided a mixed experience. The duck gyoza was a bit tough, but the pork belly bao bun was delicious, offering a delightful combination of flavours. However, the chili squid stole the show! For the mains, the Yaki soba with prawn and chicken was a delightful choice, as was the Chicken Katsu curry. Both dishes were expertly prepared, showcasing a mastery of Japanese cuisine. Dessert offered a mixed bag - the dough chi balls, while charming, didn't leave a lasting impression. However, the Smoked Chocolate and Caramel Cake exceeded expectations, proving to be a memorable finale.
The drinks selection was diverse, catering to various tastes. The Lucky Buddha lager and North Brewing Co's Transmission IPA offered intriguing beer options, while the Lemon and Ginger tea provided a refreshing alcohol-free digestif alongside dessert. A minor downside to the experience was the presence of a few flies, a slight distraction from an otherwise enjoyable evening. Additionally, our mains were served before the starters, catching us a little off-guard.
Our visit to Wagamama in Bromley was a really satisfying experience marked by warm service and a diverse menu. While only a couple of trivial hiccups were encountered, the overall quality of food and service made it a satisfying dining experience we would love to repeat!
