The Weber Spirit II E-210 is a fantastic barbecue. My background with barbecuing is someone who has only really used charcoal before, including disposable ones. I have wanted to make the switch to a gas barbeque for a little while now and the spirit II E-210 has exceeded all my expectations.
On the assembly, it is a 47-step process that was incredibly easy to follow using the paper manual provided, and there’s an app version available if required. It took two people and around 90 minutes to put it all together. The build quality and materials all seem excellent.
Now to the cooking – as someone used to charcoal only and particularly disposable ones, I am used to failures in the lighting process. Waiting 45 minutes for the barbeque to heat enough to be able to reliably cook on it for around 15 minutes, before it starts to go cold again. In contrast, both burners on the Weber Spirit II E-210 ignited first time and, with the lid closed the barbeque was quickly heated above 260°C according to the temperature gauge included on the lid.
The cooking space is generous for what is considered to be a compact barbeque – I was only cooking for three people, but there was ample space for additional food items if more people were present. It is also evenly heated across the grill. I had no problems with anything sticking or burning which, as it was my first time using a gas barbeque, I attribute more to the quality of the barbeque itself rather than my own abilities!
All in all, I am very happy with the Weber Spirit II E-210 gas barbeque. It is easy to move around and compact in all the right ways whilst still providing a generous cooking area. Through its design and build quality, it has taken a huge chunk of the effort out of the process of barbequing. I will be using it far more often than any other barbeque I have owned before. 5/5, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone considering a barbeque, particularly a gas one.
